Next weekend, the nursing home board is hosting an evening "thank you" meal for staff to show their appreciation for the effort that goes into making our facility run smoothly.
Some days are rougher than others. Some days, we have wild goose chases on the phone trying to track down insurance companies. Some days, we have distraught residents. Some days, the dishwasher breaks down and we resort to paper plates. We are not always glamorous and put together.
But what I'm thankful for--and what the board is thankful for--is a group of employees that works together to bring quality care to those in need, that consistently goes out of their way to create a loving space for the community we serve.
